Work Week

I love my job and enjoy being with my co-workers so working from home is not my preference. Having said that, working at home has saved me during my chemotherapy. Just walking from couch to another room, is difficult and leaves me out of breath. Since the majority of my work is done on a computer, I am lucky to have this option. I usually am able to go into work by Wednesday.

4 down, 2 to go

It’s been a while but I have decided that it is better to not write about aches and pains and nausea. My goal is not to bore everyone to death with my complaints. Thursday I had my 4th chemo and expect tomorrow to be my “bad” day with Monday “iffy”. I went into this go round with some leftover fatigue so not sure what to expect this time.

I am able to continue to work most days so that helps to keep my mind off cancer and death, at least for a while. Office politics being what they are, I try not to stress too much about the issues that I cannot control and try to “zen” my way through. Sometimes it even works!

Passing time

I am painfully aware of the time passing. Tomorrow will be my 3rd round of chemo, half-way through the series. From the start of my chemo has gone by faster than I expected. I hope to have some idea of how things are progressing soon.

Working helps to keep my mind of the deadly statistics of ovarian cancer and I’m mostly in good spirits. I don’t want to be someone that is avoided because I am so down or grumpy. I do forget my situation sometimes but not for long.

Everyone have a safe and happy 4th of July.
